The Ministry of Home Affairs and the departments under it are and will be implementing digital transformation and service innovation in spurring more efficient, transparent, integrity-based and citizen-centric governance. The Minister of Home Affairs said that through such a platform, the ministry has the opportunity to deliver the latest information on policies, initiatives and new services that are designed based on the needs of the people. Speaking at the launching of the 'Kenali KementerianKu' event, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman explained that the digital transformation implemented includes new fire engines equipped with modern technologies; the implementation of the Prisons Department's digital technology system initiative; and the use of mobile applications in disaster management. The Department of Immigration and National Registration, JIPK, is also actively expanding the use of digital services.
Yang Berhormat added the digital transformation implemented by the JIPK is through the use of the e-Gate system at the Brunei International Airport. This innovation shortens immigration screening times, improves security screening and makes the entry and exit process more comfortable and efficient.
The 3-day event held until 26th of November, include a Talk Programme, which is interaction with the public including stakeholders, and sales of One Village, One Product or ONE K ONE P vendors; INSAF products from the Prisons Department; the Aftercare Support Association products and other local products. Also held was the launching of the 'Kedai Kampung' by the Mukim and Kampung Kasat Consultative Councils. The event was held 24th November Morning at Dewan Muhibbah, Brunei Muara District Office in Berakas.
